Predestined to be Elect
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:32

Elected by God since before time began,
Predestined to be his own
My destination is to go and sing,
Before my Saviour’s throne.

There may be pains on earth,
But not where I’m to go.
Heaven’s joy is forever,
This one thing for sure, I know.

Don’t think it will be easy
To live your life on earth
The worldly wicked swarm around
They are of no worth

We are to be in this world
But not of it you see
Lights that in the darkness
Make men glorify Thee

I do not belong to myself
Free will does not exist
I belong to God
He holds me in His fist

My sins, they would condemn me,
But for God’s love for His own.
He sent his son to die for me,
Now I can sit by His throne.

God’s great love for his elect,
Is readily shown in His word.
He loves those who don’t deserve it,
The ones who have terribly erred.

Everything that I do
Is written in His will
Although I sin so greatly
He chose to love me still

I have now published a book entitled “In A Dry And Thirsty Land”. It is available for purchase at this link.

Christian Fellowship
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
Psalm 133:1

Behold, how pleasant it is
For brethren together to dwell
They fellowship together,
In unity so well

True fellowship should not be
Among the family alone
But also with Christian brethren
This harmony is shown

If we are likeminded
We’ll get along quite well
And if some are mistaken
The Truth we’re sure to tell

Unity does not come
Alone without a cause
We should not tolerate
Important doctrinal flaws

Correction done in love
Is best for everyone
In this way we glorify
The Father, Spirit and son

Blessed…

Blessed…
By Grace Kobilan

“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth…”

Blessed are those
Who make peace on this earth
For their calm dispositions
Are of immeasurable worth

The kingdom of God
Belongs to these men
They praise the Lord
Again and again

Those who are meek
Are fearless and strong
They are not weak
They defend right from wrong

When the meek are exhorted
They never take offense
They humbly accept
Correction for thence:

Blessed are the meek
They’ll inherit the earth
For their calm dispositions
Are of immeasurable worth

Those who make peace
Know that it must
Be founded in truth
Or become as the dust

Truth can never
Stand on its own
But only on Christ
The Chief Corner Stone

True Christian brethren
Will not sacrifice
Truth for peace
At any price

Blessed are the ones
Who make peace once again
For this glorious Gospel
That is for some men

This Gospel of Truth
Is not for all
But only the ones
Which our Saviour did call

The ones that the Father
Has giv’n to the Son
How thankful I am
That I am one!

I wrote this one last night, and I rather like it!
I hope everyone else who reads it likes it too. :)

Hasten That Day

Hasten That Day

By Grace Kobilan

Gracious Heavenly Father

If I should suffer need,

Make my heart to prize thy love

Keep me to your creed.

Let me be constrained by it,

Though blessings be denied

It is thy mercy to afflict me with wants

Through these you’re by my side

For by all these trials I see

My sins, they grieve your heart

From all my willful wickedness

That my sins impart

Let me willingly accept

Sorrows, miseries

By these sore temptations

I feel sin’s taxing fees

Now I can be delivered

From my awful sin

With gratitude to thee

I’m not where I had been

When thine own son Jesus

Came into mine heart

Instead of my sins

How much dearer thou art

His kindly ruling power

Replaced sin’s tyranny

Sin is now abolished,

And my spirit now is free

Free from sin and anguish

Living only for God

My soul is captive to Christ

It is Him that I laud

When I look within myself

I can find no rest,

But look to Christ the Saviour

There’s safety from the test

Alone by myself

I can’t do any good,

But in Christ my faithful Saviour

I can do the things I should

Soon I shall have them perfectly

In my glorified state

When Thou wilt show thyself reconciled

And save me from my fate

Without thy good works, Jesus

My fate would be hell,

But now that Christ has saved me

Everything is well

O Lord please hasten

That glorious coming day,

When the trumpet shall sound

And we’ll rise from the clay

Lord, Be Merciful To Me
By Grace Kobilan

Lord, I confess I have not kept
Thy perfect, matchless law
I’ve broken it in numerous ways
I’m never without a flaw

I’m guilty of pride, I’m so puffed up
Thinking only of me
I’m full of unbelief and fail
To cleave to the Word of Thee

Neglecting Thee in my daily life
I’m full of countless transgressions
I forget that Your holy Word
Is the richest of my possessions

My shortcomings are without end
Or so it seems so far
Sin has left it’s ugly stain
Only You can remove its scar

Present me with a roll
Of accusations from Thee
But I bless Thee that they will not
Stand up against me

For they’ve been laid on Christ
He died on the cross so cruel
Now I have the crown of life
I shine as a jewel

Break down my sins
Subdue my corruptions
Grant me the grace
Make from my sin deductions

Let me not be bound or drawn
To passions of the flesh
Take away my lustings
And my whole spirit thresh

I thank Thee, my Lord
That many prayers have been
Refused by Your goodness
When what I asked was sin

I have longed for Egypt
Been given a wilderness
Prayed for lusts, was rejected
You never will amiss

Go on with Thy patient work
Answering as You see fit
Saying no to my wrongful prayers
And helping me to submit

Purge from me every false desire
Every base aspiration
Take from me things that are against Thy rule
Anything that’s a negation

I thank Thee for Thy wisdom and love
For every time You scold
For sometimes putting me through the furnace
To refine my gold

You put me through the furnace hot
And so remove my dross
No trials are as hard to bear
As a sense of sin and loss

If Thou shouldst give me a choice
To have both pleasure and sin
Or to have them burnt away with trials
Give me affliction, not sin

Deliver me from evil ways
Cleanse me from sin so vile
Everything that dims Thy grace
And hides Thy loving smile

Cast away all things that keep
Me from delighting in Thee
Make me bear the fruit of good works
Then shalt thou answer my plea

May I Never Stray

May I Never Stray

Inspired by: “The Gospel Way” from “the Valley of Vision” Puritan prayers

How carnal flesh could contrive the Gospel
There’s not a single way
God, my Lord is the inventor
The one to whom I pray

Thou art the messenger and the message
In eternal grace
The hope that burns within me
Is to one day see Thy face

You know our trials, You’ve borne them all
In the same way, been tempted thus
You lived on earth and died on the cross
All because of us

We are not worthy to be called Your sons
We deserve the pains of hell
But instead You chose to save us
And will take us to heaven to dwell

Why You chose to save us
We surely cannot tell
When others just as wicked
Were sent straight to hell

You lived on earth that I might be freed
Ransomed, redeemed, vindicated
You died that awful death
And now I’m expiated

Eternal thanks to Thee, O Lamb
For opening this way
Praises without end to Thee
I sing every day

O glorious Trinity
Impress upon my soul
The wonders of the Gospel
In its wondrous whole

Until its virtue circulates
To every faculty
Let it be professed
That Christ is in me

Help my stubborn will
To overcome my faults
To assassinate each darling lust
Until my combat halts

Make me to submit my heart
My life and its command
To stick strictly to the Truth
And against all errors stand

Not departing from the Truth
No matter what befalls
If I meet with persecution
I’m safe within Thy walls

Strip me of everything
That could be counted as good
But keep my one true focus
On the One that I should

I have neglected thee too long
Often crucified Thee
By my own impenitence
You’ve been put to shame by me

I thank Thee my dear Saviour
That Thou hast been patient with me
You’ve borne with me so very long
While I think of mutiny

Unite me to Thyself
With bonds that cannot break
That nothing might ever part me
Not even flames or stake
